We have a couple of exciting plans for the next year, little tweaks and upgrades to make the meme experience better. We are even going to resolve the new post issue, so that everyone is not at the mercy of me and what may or may not be my travel schedule.
Thank you to all the nonnies, for making this the best two years of moderating I can imagine.

Re: Tag Wrangling Co-Chair Defends Ao3's Tag Policies

As a former tag wrangler, I gotta say, stuff like this is why I really, really, really wish they'd make the tag landing pages available to users. It's so much easier to see why I'm getting certain results if I can check the tag and go, "Oh, 'TOLKIEN J.R.R - Works' is a metatag for all his other works. That's where 'Leaf by Niggle' is coming from." Or, "Oh, I see, 'Female Cousland' is a subtag of 'Female Warden' and of 'Cousland,' which are subtags of 'Grey Warden'" in Dragon Age fandom.
And not only could I see the structure (thus making it less baffling and opaque why I was getting certain results), I could jump around up and down the hierarchy with a few clicks: up to the metatag, back down to a different subtag, etc. It made metatags and subtags actually useful for navigation!
I miss those damn landing pages so much I considered re-signing-up and claiming a single inactive fandom just to get them back. But I shouldn't have to do that.
